Sermon Slides - Our Lavish God

Romans 5:1–11

  1. Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
  2. through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
  3. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;
  4. perseverance, character; and character, hope.
  5. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

  6. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
  7. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.
  8. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

  9. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!
  10. For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
  11. Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Matthew 25:20–29

  1. The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.’
  2. “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

  3. “The man with the two talents also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two talents; see, I have gained two more.’
  4. “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

  5. “Then the man who had received the one talent came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed.
  6. So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’

  7. “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed?
  8. Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.
  9. “‘Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents.
  10. For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.
